A short stroll (1km) down the hill to beautifully Spring Beach, overlooking Maria Island.
Accessible via the Maria Island Ferry, departing from nearby Triabunna, Maria Island is a special place with something for everyone – historic ruins, sweeping bays, rugged cliffs and mountains and remarkable wildlife. Triabunna is a 10 min drive from The Pavilion and the ferry is approx. 20 mins to Maria Island. A great day trip!
10 minute drive from The Pavilion, Rheban Beach overlooks Maria Island and is a stunning option if you are after a secluded beach walk (often you will be the only people on the beach). A great option for swimming, boating, kayaking, etc.
Approx. 1.5 hrs from Spring Beach. Around the world, national parks have been created to preserve truly magical places and there’s no doubt Freycinet National Park has a magic all of its own. Freycinet has global appeal – it is iconic, memorable and breathtaking. The park is best known for the stunning beauty of Wineglass Bay – its crystal-clear waters and curvaceous white beach is one of Tasmania’s most celebrated views.
Lovely place for breakfast or lunch with Tasmanian ice cream and a gift selection.
Lovely cafe with good food and coffee. Selection of lollies for kids. Outdoor seating. Just over the bridge in Orford.
Just over the bridge in Orford, Darlington offers wine tastings and lovely wines.
Just down the road from The Pavilion, open 11-3pm Wed-Sun, drop in for a gin, whisky and vodka tasting. Their pink gin is my favourite!
Supermarket with everything you’ll need. Sells yummy Marion Bay roast chickens for an easy meal.
Located on the river at Orford next to Wattlebanks cafe, serving eat-in or take-away pizzas, burgers, etc. Good option for dinner.
Approx. 30 min drive north from The Pavilion, Mayfield Estate is a working farm, producing super fine wool and premium wines from their boutique vineyard, with their new Cellar Door overlooking Great Oyster Bay.
Around an hour (just north of Swansea) from The Pavilion, Devil’s Corner is open daily 10-5pm and offers a great cellar door and multiple eating options including woodfired pizzas, Tasmanian ice cream and seafood. Architecturally designed buildings and great views of Freycinet/The Hazards.
Award-winning fish and chips, 10 min drive from The Pavilion in Triabunna. Can get very busy during peak times, so would recommend ordering ahead or taking a walk around the Triabunna fishing vessels whilst you wait.
Waterfront dining as part of the East Coaster Resort complex. Lovely outlook with a modern Australian menu with good seafood options. A lovely place to go to enjoy a glass of wine and a meal for lunch.
